Cookie Policy
Last updated: 30 May 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how Sponsero ("Sponsero", "we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on sponsero.ai and related subdomains and applications (the "Platform"). It describes what these technologies are, why we use them, and the choices you have.
This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
Sponsero is an AI-powered sports sponsorship marketplace that connects athletes, clubs, and venues ("sponsees") with brands and advertisers ("sponsors").
1. Who we are
The Platform is operated by SPONSERO LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 16667915, with its registered office at 86-90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE, United Kingdom.
For any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at info@sponsero.co.
2. What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them more secure, and to provide information to the site operator.
We also use similar technologies such as browser local storage and session storage, which store information in your browser but are not transmitted automatically with every request. In this policy, references to "cookies" include these similar technologies unless stated otherwise.
Cookies may be:
- First-party — set by Sponsero.
- Third-party — set by a service provider we use (for example, our payments or maps provider).
- Session — deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent — remain until they expire or you delete them.
3. Why we use cookies
We use cookies to:
- Keep you signed in and secure your session.
- Remember your preferences, such as your language.
- Process payments and help prevent fraud.
- Display maps and location features.
- Monitor errors and performance so we can keep the Platform reliable.
- Record your cookie preferences.
We do not use cookies for advertising, cross-site behavioural tracking, or to sell your personal data.
4. Cookies and technologies we use
4.1 Strictly necessary
These are essential for the Platform to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as logging in or making a payment.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Sponsero (Supabase) | Authentication and keeping you signed in | Session and up to 1 year |
| __stripe_mid | Stripe | Fraud prevention during payments | 1 year |
| __stripe_sid | Stripe | Fraud prevention during payments | 30 minutes |
| cookie_consent | Sponsero (local storage) | Stores your cookie consent choice | Until cleared |
4.2 Functional and preferences
These enable personalisation, such as remembering your settings. If disabled, some features may not work as intended.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| NEXT_LOCALE | Sponsero | Remembers your language preference (English or Spanish) | 1 year |
| onboarding and UI state | Sponsero (session storage) | Remembers onboarding progress and caches in-app data for performance | Session |
4.3 Analytics and performance
These help us understand errors and performance so we can improve reliability. We use Sentry for error monitoring and performance diagnostics. Sentry primarily uses browser storage rather than cookies and processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, and details of any errors encountered.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sentry diagnostic data | Sentry | Error monitoring and performance diagnostics | Session and short-term storage |
4.4 Third-party service cookies
Some features rely on third parties that may set their own cookies when those features load. These providers act as independent controllers for the data they collect through their cookies.
| Provider | Used for | More information |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payments and fraud prevention | stripe.com/privacy |
| Mapbox | Maps and venue locations | mapbox.com/legal/privacy |
| Google sign-in (One Tap) | policies.google.com/privacy | |
| Supabase | Authentication and database | supabase.com/privacy |
| Vercel | Hosting and content delivery | vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy |
When you choose to connect a social account (Instagram, YouTube, X, or TikTok), you are redirected to that provider, who may set their own cookies under their own policies.
5. Similar technologies (local and session storage)
In addition to cookies, we use your browser's local and session storage to remember your consent choice, keep track of onboarding progress, and temporarily cache data (such as profile or notification information) so the Platform loads faster. This information stays in your browser and is not sent automatically to our servers with every request.
6. Legal basis for using cookies
Where required by law (including the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR, and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations / ePrivacy Directive):
- Strictly necessary cookies are used on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure and functional Platform, and do not require consent.
- Functional, analytics, and third-party cookies that are not strictly necessary are used on the basis of your consent, which you provide through our cookie banner and can withdraw at any time.
7. Managing your cookies and consent
When you first visit the Platform, our cookie banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the cookie_consent value (for example, by clearing your site data) and reloading the page to bring the banner back.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including deleting existing cookies and blocking new ones. Helpful guides:
Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Platform — such as signing in or making payments — from working.
8. International data transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside the United Kingdom, including outside the European Economic Area. Where this happens, appropriate safeguards (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses) are put in place. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or for legal or operational reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Platform.
